ND Profile

Riley Anderson, ND

Dr. Riley Anderson is a licensed naturopathic doctor (ND) located in Calgary, AB, with a clinical focus on mental health, hormonal health, digestive health, and sports medicine.  His mission is to help others overcome their struggles and achieve a level of health they never thought possible. With each patient, he aims to uncover the root cause of illness so he can provide effective treatment plans that lead to improved quality of life. He is licensed under the Health Professions Act of Alberta to diagnose, provide counselling, lab testing, acupuncture, intramuscular vitamin injections, dietetics, and more.

He received his Bachelor of Kinesiology degree (4-year program) from the University of Calgary and earned his Doctor of Naturopathy degree (4-year program) from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM). Here, he was selected for the Sports Medicine specialty shift where he learned the art of physical medicine, including diagnosing and treating injuries, from an Olympic medalist and naturopathic doctor. Upon graduation, he was granted the award for Excellence in Naturopathic Physical Medicine amongst his graduating class.

He has worked professionally as an ND in both Alberta and British Columbia, in addition to a year-long clinical internship performed in Ontario that included weekly rounds at the Brampton Civic Hospital. When he first set-up practice on Vancouver Island, he was largely focused on mental health and addictions which he now combines with his previous expertise in physical/sports medicine to be a truly holistic practitioner.

Dr. Riley is a former competitive black belt martial artist and has trained extensively in both Kung-Fu and Muay Thai kickboxing. Recently, he has developed a healthy obsession with the game of darts and also enjoys playing music (guitar, songwriting, singing, percussion) in his spare time. He was even a finalist in the Calgary Folk Fest songwriting competition "Untapped Newcomer" category.
