Dr. Kandis Lock, ND got her first taste of Naturopathic Medicine while studying traditional healing methods as an undergraduate at the University of Alberta. As an anthropology student she studied a variety of ancient healing practices from around the world. It was at the end of her undergrad that she realized that practicing these medicines, rather than studying them academically, was an inevitable course of action. These forms of medicine are her passion.
Dr. Lock, ND, then went back to college to obtain all her pre-medical sciences before attending and graduating from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, one of only two accredited naturopathic institutes in Canada.
Dr. Lock, ND, works with patients to identify the underlying cause of disease and create individualized treatment plans to support the healing power of the body. She creates a dialogue with her patients, discusses treatment options, and ultimately helps them restore balance and wellness in their lives.
Having a general family practice, she has experience treating a wide spectrum of diseases and in addition has a special interest in cancer, digestive concerns, fertility and peri-natal care, hormone health, skin problems, and autoimmune disease. She uses botanical (herbal) medicines, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and acupuncture, cellular drainage and detox, and clinical nutrition. She also believes in the importance of an integrative approach to medicine and will work with your MD, specialists, and other health care practitioners.
