Dr. Betty Rozendaal BES, MA, R.Ac, ND, (Clinic Director) is a Naturopathic Doctor and Registered Acupuncturist, dedicated to guiding you on your path to optimal health and wellness. She treats a wide variety of health conditions and offers services for every age, from pediatrics to geriatrics.
Dr. Rozendaal has a strong interest in environmental medicine and an in-depth knowledge of the effects that common environmental contaminants and toxins have on our health. She routinely treats women's health concerns including hormonal balance, fertility, menopause, thyroid health, and healthy menstrual cycles; men's issues including prostate concerns, erectile dysfunction, infertility; children's health including acute or chronic infections, eczema, behavioral issues and food and environmental allergies; digestive disorders in people of all ages, and seniors concerns, including chronic and acute pain, insomnia, cardiovascular disease, adjunctive cancer care and healthy aging. As well, she offers specific corporate group and individual programs for smoking cessation, nutritional counseling, weight management and detoxification.
Dr. Rozendaal's passion for Naturopathic Medicine and environmental issues goes back more than 20 years from the time she graduated with her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Environmental Studies from the University of Waterloo. Prior to graduating from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, she worked for over 15 years in the environmental and energy industries, where she developed and directed environmental programs in the natural gas, electricity, nuclear, and wind energy sectors. Dr. Rozendaal has travelled extensively and has had the opportunity to work in Indonesia, where she developed an environmental research center and trained local staff in water quality issues. She also has had the opportunity to speak at numerous environmental conferences in Canada and in Europe and participate in several international climate change and sustainable development meetings. This extensive experience has given her in-depth knowledge into the effects that environmental contaminants have on our health and the role they play in many diseases.
Dr. Rozendaal is a certified Wilson's Temperature Syndrome Physician and will work with you to optimize body temperature and thyroid function through nutrition and herbal medicine. She is also certified in advanced injection therapies such as Intravenous Therapy, mesotherapy and biopuncture, and offers specialized treatments such as infertility acupuncture, cosmetic acupuncture and facial rejuvenation. As part of her clinical training, Dr. Rozendaal trained on the Oncology shift at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine and interned at Sherbourne Health Centre and Anishnawbe Health Toronto, working with patients to help improve their quality of life, decrease the side effects of their medications and help keep their immune systems in balance.
Her values include an integrative approach to health, through preventative medicine, acute and chronic care and individualized treatment. As a primary care Naturopathic Doctor, she believes it is her duty to spend adequate time with each patient and to listen, educate and tailor each visit according to your needs, encouraging you to take an active role in your health. She is happy to work with your other health care practitioners to provide you with the most well rounded, best care possible.
In addition to naturopathic medicine and the environment, Dr. Rozendaal has a passion for fitness and sports medicine. She is an avid skier, mountain climber, hiker, and kayaker and is a certified PADI scuba instructor. She is a member of the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors, the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors, The Oncology Association of Naturopathic Physicians and is registered with the College of Naturopaths of Ontario (CONO) and the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario (CTCMPAO).
