ND Profile

Jan Dorrell, ND, BSc.

Dr. Dorrell graduated from Carleton University in 1994 with a B.Sc. honors in biology and biotechnology.  After working for Agriculture Canada as a lab technician for one year she moved on to study naturopathic medicine at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine.

Dr. Dorrell has an eclectic practice, using all the naturopathic therapies, with a focus on lifestyle counseling, nutrition, botanical medicine, and homeopathy.  She works with people to support their health and quality of life at their own pace.  After over twenty years of practice she has seen that even minor changes in lifestyle and improvements in nutrition can have profound impacts on our health, particularly if these improvements become lifetime habits.  Her aim is to provide patients and their families a relaxed and professional atmosphere where they can work together to improve their health using naturopathic therapies and education.

Women and children make up most of her practice; however, she sees a diverse group of patients with a wide range of health goals.  Some of the more common health concerns Dr. Jan works with are: Digestive problems such as IBS, GERD, IBD, Stress and mental health challenges such as anxiety and depression, women’s health concerns (PMS, infertility, menopause), osteoporosis, weight loss, asthma, eczema, low energy and insomnia.

Dr. Dorrell feels lucky to also have many people seeking health optimization and disease prevention – people interested in maintaining and improving their health through testing, coaching and naturopathic strategies.
