ND Profile

Sarah Hardy Walsh, ND, IBCLC

As a naturopathic doctor, I partner with those who want a natural, whole person approach to health. I am a caregiver, passionate about nature and the healing wisdom that is within each of us and all around us. I nurture that healing wisdom and support you in becoming an active participant in your own health.

I am an ally on your journey to experience less stress and overwhelm, as you care for yourself and your family. In our culture of doing, I help people reconnect with their natural rhythms and rediscover the ways they can feel nourished and energized on a daily basis, in all of their roles.

Over the years I’ve spent in clinical practice, I’ve supported many women and children on their healing journeys, with the gentle, natural therapeutics that naturopathic medicine provides. I’m inspired everyday by the guiding principles of my profession. They allow me to help you uncover the underlying causes of your health concerns and the potential obstacle(s) to achieving your health related goals.

My own journey in this profession began when I was studying Biopsychology at Mount Allison University, in Sackville, New Brunswick. After growing up in a small town in Ontario, I found myself nourished and energized by my Maritime surroundings – the woods, the sea and the fresh air were invigorating. I realize now, it was that experience that helped me understand my strong connection to nature and has become the foundation of my naturopathic practice and my life.

During my studies at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, I was drawn to the simple wisdom of the Nature Cure approach – using whole foods nutrition, lifestyle counselling, hydrotherapy and medicinal herbs to support each individual’s healing process. The rigorous naturopathic medical program and licensing examinations called me to learn the importance of taking care of myself amidst the busy-ness and stress of life and surrounding myself with a supportive network of family, friends, colleagues and other health practitioners.

The lessons I’ve learned along the way are tucked close to my heart and continue to support me every day. Amidst the inevitable stress of life, I am thankful for nourishing time with family and friends, for energizing time in the woods and by the sea and for creative time with some paint, a few paint brushes and a canvas.
